The Return Of The Magnificent Seven brings together The Supremes and The Four Tops in a soulful collaboration that blends their distinctive voices over arrangements by David Van DePitte and Paul Riser. Produced by Motown’s Ashford & Simpson alongside Clay McMurray and Duke Browner, this 1971 album offers a focused listening experience with tracks like "You Gotta Have Love In Your Heart" and "One More Bridge To Cross" that emphasize rich vocal interplay and polished soul grooves. The artwork, crafted by Craig Braun, Jim Hendin, and Larry Rafael, complements the album’s polished, classic Motown aesthetic without overshadowing the music’s emotional depth. This 1971 vinyl pressing carries the catalog number MS-736 and presents the album on glossy vinyl graded VG++, meaning it plays very cleanly with only minor, light surface marks that shouldn’t affect sound quality. It’s a solid choice for anyone interested in the era’s polished soul collaborations and looking to add a thoughtfully produced Motown session to their collection. You might say this record holds a Magnificent spot in any groove-happy lineup without needing to cross too many bridges to prove its charm.
