Hawaii Five‐O by The Ventures brings their signature instrumental rock into the late ’60s with a focused listening experience that’s both polished and accessible. Arranged by George Tipton, Mike Melvoin, and the band themselves, this collection includes their take on the title track "Hawaii Five-O" alongside well-chosen covers like "Galveston" and "Stormy." The Ventures’ knack for crisp acoustic interplay and melodic clarity shines here, making it a smooth fit for anyone curious about the crossroads of surf and pop rock during this period. The album’s visual presentation is enhanced by artwork from Woody Woodward and Gabor Halmos, adding a tasteful touch to the package. This 1969 pressing is a straightforward way to hear The Ventures’ artistry with engineering by Lanky Linstrot and production from Joe Saraceno, making it a solid example from their late ’60s catalog. The vinyl shows typical signs of play but remains in a good everyday listening condition, with only light surface marks that won’t overshadow the music. It’s a reliable pick for those who appreciate a well-crafted instrumental set that doesn’t need to shout to make its point—sometimes, the quietest waves leave the biggest impressions.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
