Wes Montgomery- Greatest Hits-LP

• Format: LP

Wes Montgomery’s Greatest Hits offers a curated journey through his graceful guitar work, framed by Don Sebesky’s lush arrangements and Creed Taylor’s polished production. This collection casts familiar tunes like "A Day In The Life" and "Scarborough Fair" in a jazz-inflected light that blends blues, Latin rhythms, and soulful touches. Leonard Feather’s liner notes add an insightful layer, while the presence of instruments like French horn and violin enriches the texture beyond a typical jazz guitar record. It’s a record that sits comfortably between focused listening and accessible grooves, perfect for those who appreciate Montgomery’s melodic warmth paired with orchestral sophistication. This 1970 pressing on vinyl brings the album’s nuanced sound into your collection with a solid VG+ grade, indicating a record that has seen gentle use but remains fully enjoyable for everyday play. The cover art by Guy Webster adds a classic visual appeal that complements the music’s timeless nature. While the vinyl shows light surface marks typical of its age, they do not overshadow Montgomery’s signature tone. If you’re looking to add a smooth yet richly arranged set of Wes Montgomery performances to your shelf, this pressing stands ready to deliver. After all, few guitars carry their own chamber orchestra quite like Wes’s.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
