Willie Nelson’s Willie and Leon brings Nelson together with Leon Russell for a Columbia double-album set built around country and pop standards. Nelson and Russell produced the sessions themselves at Paradise Studios in Burbank, giving the record a direct artist-led angle that suits the pairing. The album also had real crossover reach, landing high on the US country albums chart while also reaching the broader pop album chart. This is a 1979 vintage vinyl pressing, and at $12 it’s an affordable Willie Nelson double-record copy with plenty of music for the money. Both records are graded VG+, so expect a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs, but not wear that should dominate the music. For a two-disc Nelson/Russell collaboration, the solid VG+ vinyl grade and low price make this copy especially appealing.
