Billy Joel- The Stranger-LP

Billy Joel – The Stranger

Billy Joel’s The Stranger pairs him with producer Phil Ramone, whose polished studio approach became a key part of the album’s pop-rock impact. Ramone had already worked with Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon, and that songwriter-focused background fits the way this record balances radio-ready songs with more expansive storytelling. “Just the Way You Are” became a major hit from the album and won two Grammy Awards in 1979. “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” gives the LP one of its most ambitious moments, unfolding as a four-part suite that shows Joel working beyond standard single-length songwriting. This 1977 Billy Joel vinyl pressing is a strong way to own The Stranger on vinyl without confusing the pressing year with the album’s later release context. The record is graded VG+, meaning a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs may be present, but not wear that should dominate the music.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
