Bread’s The Best Of Bread brings together the band’s most enduring soft rock melodies, including “Make It With You” and “Baby I'm-A Want You,” showcasing the songwriting talents of David Gates, James Griffin, and Robb Royer. Produced by Gates and Griffin, this collection highlights their knack for intimate acoustic arrangements and warm, focused listening that made them a staple of 70s mellow rock. The album’s artwork, crafted by Robert L. Heimall and Frank Bez with photography by Sam Emerson and Tony Lowe, reflects the era’s understated aesthetic, a visual quietude that matches the music’s gentle charm—proof that sometimes less really is more. This 1979 Elektra pressing offers a solid vintage listening experience on vinyl, presented with glossy surfaces showing only minor light scuffs typical for its age. The catalog number EKS-75056 makes it easy to locate among classic rock shelves, where it fits comfortably alongside other soft rock collections. For those who appreciate the subtle craftsmanship of a well-produced small ensemble effort, this record maintains clarity in both sound and presentation. It’s a tidy package for anyone looking to revisit Bread’s mellow sound without the fuss of later reissues. After all, when it comes to soft rock, it’s often the quiet moments that speak the loudest.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
