The George Benson Collection from 1981 gathers some of the jazz guitarist and singer’s most engaging performances, blending smooth, focused listening with the warmth of an acoustic ensemble. Tracks like "Give Me The Night" and "Turn Your Love Around" show Benson’s knack for melding jazz with accessible melodies, while "This Masquerade" and "Cast Your Fate To The Wind" highlight his tasteful guitar work. It’s an album that sits comfortably between polished vocal jazz and soulful instrumental grooves, offering a snapshot of Benson’s range without overstaying its welcome—after all, a collection should never feel like a greatest hits dressed for dinner. This pressing presents the album on vinyl with a clean, glossy surface that carries just minor light scuffs and faint lines typical of careful play. The 1981 vinyl offers a solid way to appreciate Benson’s nuanced approach to both guitar and vocals, with the format’s physical presence adding a tactile connection to his craftsmanship. If your collection gravitates toward jazz that’s as inviting as it is refined, this copy brings that experience without the need for a magnifying glass on the grooves.
