Rare Hendrix gathers a collection of lesser-known tracks that reveal a quieter, more intimate side of Jimi Hendrix’s artistry, featuring acoustic arrangements and a compact group setting. The compilation, issued well after Hendrix’s passing, invites focused listening with songs like "Voice In The Wind" and the two-part "Go Go Shoes," where his songwriting and delicate guitar work take center stage without the usual electric pyrotechnics. This record offers a different perspective on an artist best known for his explosive electric performances, making it a thoughtful addition for those who want to explore the depth beneath the legend’s usual roar. This 1972 vinyl pressing presents the album on clean, glossy vinyl graded VG++, indicating very minor surface marks that won’t distract from playback. It’s a neat package for those who appreciate Hendrix’s songwriting craft in a more stripped-back setting, and the acoustic ensemble format here is a pleasant detour from his typical studio or live recordings. If you’re setting up your shelves, consider this one the acoustic whisper amid the Hendrix thunder.
