Joe Walsh’s But Seriously Folks captures a sharp blend of rock and blues with a wink of pop rock sensibility, anchored by the enduring "Life's Been Good." The album benefits from Bill Szymczyk’s production and engineering team, including Ted Jensen and Ed Mashal, who shape a clear, well-balanced sound that suits Walsh’s mix of synthesizer and guitar work. The artwork, crafted by a team including Jage Jackson and Mark Foltz, complements the music’s sly humor and approachable vibe, making it a standout among late ’70s rock albums where focused listening meets acoustic small-group interplay. This 1978 Asylum Records vinyl pressing presents the album in stereo, with a catalog number 6E-141, offering a tactile connection to that era’s rock scene. The vinyl condition is glossy and very clean, showing only minor, light surface marks that won’t interfere with enjoyment. It’s a copy that invites diving into Walsh’s world without fuss—after all, a record that includes “Theme from Boat Weirdos” isn’t shy about steering clear of the ordinary. Whether you’re expanding a rock collection or exploring Walsh’s solo work beyond his Eagles tenure, this LP is a sturdy, straightforward listen.
