Kool and the Gang’s 1982 album As One marks a moment when the band leaned into a more focused listening experience, blending their signature funk with a tighter, acoustic-driven ensemble sound. By this stage, the group included key members like James "J.T." Taylor and Ronald Bell, whose contributions helped shape this period’s refined grooves. Coming from a band inducted into both the New Jersey Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, As One reflects a chapter where the band’s musical chemistry was dialed in just right—proof that even a group with a long history knows how to come together with precision. This 1982 pressing offers a straightforward snapshot of that era on vinyl, ideal for listeners looking to explore this phase of Kool and the Gang’s catalog without the distraction of recent remixes or reissues. The record is graded VG, meaning it’s fully playable but shows some wear that may introduce light background noise here and there. If you appreciate a record that’s traveled a bit but still holds the groove, this pressing fits the bill. It’s the kind of album that keeps its cool even when the needle’s seen a few runs.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
