Kool & The Gang - Wild And Peaceful - LP

• Format: LP
• Label: De-Lite Records
• Catalog number: DEP-2013

Wild and Peaceful by Kool and the Gang stands as a vibrant snapshot of early 1970s funk, where tight grooves meet lively horn arrangements and dynamic percussion. Tracks like "Jungle Boogie" and "Hollywood Swinging" helped define the band’s energetic sound, blending catchy rhythms with precise ensemble work that keeps the momentum flowing from start to finish. The group’s role as both producer and arranger here highlights their hands-on approach to crafting music that’s as focused as it is danceable, while contributions from Dee Tee on congas add a subtle texture beneath the mix. The album’s cover artwork by Joseph and Richard Askew complements this lively energy with its colorful, bold design—proof that the visual presentation was as considered as the music itself. This 1973 De-Lite Records vinyl pressing comes in a condition that shows some signs of use but remains fully playable, offering a chance to experience this classic funk set with all its original punch. The grooves might carry a bit more surface noise than a pristine copy, but that’s a small concession for owning a piece of funk history on 12-inch vinyl. Whether you’re adding to a collection or discovering Kool and the Gang’s groove-filled roots, this LP delivers a spirited listening session that keeps the party moving even when it’s just you and the turntable. After all, not every record needs to be spotless to bring its wild and peaceful moments to life.
