Linda Ronstadt’s Mad Love marks a notable shift toward a more rock-driven sound while keeping her knack for melodic storytelling intact. Tracks like "How Do I Make You" and "Girls Talk" showcase her ability to channel energetic rhythms with an acoustic ensemble that still feels intimate rather than stadium-sized. The album’s blend of focused listening and punchy arrangements reflects Ronstadt’s versatility, standing apart in her catalog as a confident step into edgier territory without losing her signature warmth. This 1980 pressing offers a solid vintage snapshot of that era’s production and Ronstadt’s evolving style. Pressed on vinyl and rated VG+, it presents with the kind of light surface marks typical for a well-loved record that’s been handled with care—nothing that should overshadow the music itself. For collectors or listeners keen on exploring Ronstadt’s rock phase, this copy balances playability and authenticity, proving that even a “Mad Love” can come with a mellow side.
