Marian Anderson With Franz Rupp’s Spirituals offers a profound journey through traditional African American spirituals, performed with a clarity and reverence that few vocalists have matched. Anderson’s rich contralto voice, accompanied delicately by pianist Franz Rupp, brings songs like "Deep River," "Go Down, Moses," and "Nobody Knows The Trouble I See" to life with heartfelt sincerity and measured grace. This 1956 RCA Victor Red Seal release stands as a testament to Anderson’s ability to bridge classical technique with folk-rooted expression, making it a touchstone for focused listening in the spirituals and folk category. This pressing from 1956 was produced at the RCA Records Pressing Plant in Indianapolis and bears the catalog number LM 2032. The vinyl is in VG++ condition, meaning you can expect a glossy surface with only minor, faint marks that won’t detract from playback. For those who appreciate the subtle interplay between voice and piano in an acoustic setting, this record brings that intimacy to your turntable without fuss. It’s a pressing that invites you to sit back and let the music unfold, much like a quiet conversation in a room full of history.
