New Edition’s All for Love from 1985 showcases the group’s smooth evolution from bubblegum pop towards a more polished, focused sound that still carries the charm reminiscent of their Jackson 5 inspiration. Tracks like "Count Me Out" and "All For Love" balance youthful energy with mature vocal harmonies, reflecting the band’s knack for blending acoustic textures with contemporary R&B flair. This album stands out as a snapshot of New Edition’s transitional period, featuring contributions from key members like Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill, which add layers to their signature style. This 1985 vinyl pressing offers a solid listen with vinyl in VG++ condition, meaning it’s glossy and very clean, with only minor surface marks that shouldn’t interfere with playback. It’s a straightforward vintage pressing that fits neatly into any collection emphasizing focused listening and acoustic ensemble work. If you’re lining up your records by vocal groups who could almost double as smooth talkers, this one whispers its way onto the shelf without shouting for attention.
