New Edition’s Heart Break marks a pivotal moment in the group’s evolution, blending the polished grooves of late-’80s new jack swing with the smooth soul and contemporary R&B that defined the era. Produced by the legendary Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis alongside Jellybean Johnson, the album delivers tight arrangements and standout tracks like “If It Isn’t Love” and “Can You Stand The Rain,” which showcase the band’s vocal chemistry and knack for heartfelt storytelling. The record’s acoustic ensemble feel invites focused listening, offering a refined balance between dancefloor energy and emotional depth. This 1988 MCA pressing presents Heart Break in a classic vinyl format, catalog number MCA-42207, with engineering by Steve Hodge and lacquer cutting by Brian Gardner ensuring a clean presentation. The vinyl here is in very good plus condition, exhibiting a glossy surface with only minor, faint paper scuffs typical of careful handling—nothing that should distract from the listening experience. For anyone arranging their collection, this is a pressing that holds up well without demanding a magnifying glass, proving that sometimes, heart and soul come with just a hint of wear.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
