Peggy Lee’s *Guitars Ala Lee* stands out as a subtle yet sophisticated exploration of jazz vocals, where her intimate phrasing meets the warm textures of guitar accompaniment. The album features a compelling selection of standards like "Black Coffee" and "I’ve Got You Under My Skin," showcasing Lee’s ability to convey complex emotions with a poised, understated delivery. While not as widely spotlighted as some of her contemporaries, this collection captures the quiet artistry that aligns Lee alongside singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone, making it a rewarding listen for fans of classic vocal jazz. This 1966 pressing on vinyl offers a stereo experience that reflects the era’s attention to detail in sound layering, particularly effective given the album’s focus on guitar and voice interplay. The record itself is in very good plus condition, with a glossy surface and only minor light scuffs that shouldn’t distract from playback. Its neatness extends to the packaging, making it a solid choice for listeners seeking a clean, vintage pressing. It’s a record that might just charm its way into your jazz shelf without asking for much space—an understated gem with a straightforward presentation. Guitars Ala Lee - Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo.
