REM – Fables of the Reconstruction

R.E.M.’s *Fables of the Reconstruction* is a haunting Southern Gothic journey that showcases the band’s storytelling prowess and moody atmospheres. Recorded in Alabama, it’s a departure from their earlier jangle-pop sound, embracing a darker, more mysterious vibe. Listening to "Driver 8" feels like setting out on a twilight train ride through forgotten towns—restless and full of hidden stories.
