Richard P. Havens, 1983 showcases Richie Havens’ distinctive approach to folk and acoustic music, blending introspective songwriting with inventive reinterpretations of contemporary songs like "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Lady Madonna." The album reflects Havens’ ability to channel emotion through a sparse ensemble, offering a compelling listening experience that balances original compositions such as "Stop Pulling And Pushing Me" with thoughtful covers. It’s a record where the artist’s soulful voice and rhythmic guitar work stand at the forefront, inviting focused listening without distraction. This 1968 vintage pressing on vinyl carries a well-preserved sound for its age, graded VG+, meaning it plays with only minor surface marks or light paper scuffs unlikely to interfere with enjoyment. For those who appreciate Havens’ blend of earnest lyricism and acoustic intimacy, this pressing delivers the kind of approachable wear that doesn’t shout louder than the music itself. If you’ve ever wondered how to fit a sprawling acoustic journey into a single record, Havens’ skillful pacing here offers a neat answer without ever feeling cramped.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
