Richie Havens’ 1976 album The End Of The Beginning offers a thoughtful blend of acoustic small-group arrangements that invite focused listening. Known for his soulful voice and distinctive guitar work, Havens delivers a set that includes interpretations of “If Not For You” and “Long Train Running,” alongside originals like “I Was Educated By Myself.” The mix of reflective songwriting and intimate performances showcases a quieter, more introspective side of Havens’ artistry, well suited for those who appreciate nuanced storytelling in folk and singer-songwriter traditions. It’s an album that encourages you to lean in, much like the title suggests, where the end might just signal a fresh start. This pressing from 1976 on A&M Records comes in very good plus condition, with vinyl that remains glossy and clean, showing only minor surface marks typical of careful use. It’s a solid example for collectors who want a vintage copy without the hunt for mint condition. The straightforward presentation and sound quality here make it a practical choice for anyone wanting to explore Havens’ mid-70s period without fuss. Just enough character to remind you that records are meant to be played, not just admired on the shelf.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
