Stacy Lattisaw’s Sixteen offers a glimpse into her artistry through a collection tailored for focused listening, where an intimate acoustic ensemble frames her voice with clarity and subtlety. Tracks like "Black Pumps And Pink Lipstick" and "Million Dollar Babe" highlight her ability to navigate themes of youth and confidence without overstatement, making the album a thoughtful balance of personal expression and smooth musicianship. The album’s pared-down approach invites attention to the nuances in Lattisaw’s delivery and the delicate interplay within the band, a sound that sits comfortably apart from the era’s bigger productions. This 1983 pressing of Sixteen comes on vinyl in very good plus condition, showing only minor surface marks that should not interfere with playback. Its clean, glossy finish suggests it has been well cared for, a neat find for those who appreciate Lattisaw’s quieter moments away from the more commercial spotlight. The record’s modest wear is about as subtle as the album’s arrangements, making it a solid addition for anyone exploring this corner of early ’80s focused listening. If your collection is looking for a record that whispers rather than shouts, this one won’t ask for much space but will reward close attention.
