Love Is Blue by The Dells offers a thoughtful blend of focused listening that highlights the group’s smooth vocal harmonies and subtle acoustic arrangements. Issued in 1969 on Cadet Records, this album features interpretations of classics like "Dock Of The Bay" and "Wichita Lineman," showcasing the band's ability to bring fresh emotion to well-known songs. The Dells’ long career, later honored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, shines through their nuanced approach here, making it a rewarding listen for those who appreciate soulful, carefully crafted performances rather than just vocal fireworks. If you’re intrigued by the idea of a vocal group working in a more intimate setting, this record provides a neat example. This 1969 pressing comes on vinyl that presents with a glossy finish and very clean surface, showing only minor, faint paper scuffs typical for its age. For collectors or listeners curious about The Dells beyond their more famous hits, this pressing delivers a focused experience that fits well alongside other late ’60s soul and vocal group records, without calling too much attention to itself—sometimes the quietest voices say the most.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
