The Hollyridge Strings – The Beatles Songbook Vol 2

The Hollyridge Strings’ The Beatles Songbook Vol 2 reflects a very 1960s idea: recasting then-current pop hits as polished easy-listening orchestral arrangements. The group was an American studio orchestra associated with Capitol Records, best known for string-led versions of songs by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, Elvis Presley, Simon & Garfunkel, and others. Across their catalog, arrangers and conductors such as Stu Phillips, Mort Garson, and Perry Botkin Jr. helped shape that crossover space between pop familiarity and light orchestral presentation. This is a 1965 vinyl pressing, a nice period copy for anyone drawn to Beatles-related records from outside the standard rock-band format. At $12, it’s an affordable Beatles-adjacent vintage vinyl copy with a distinct lounge/easy-listening angle. The record is graded VG+, so expect a solid everyday copy with a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs possible, but not wear that should dominate the music.
