16 of Their Greatest Hits by The Mamas and the Papas collects the band’s most memorable moments from the late ’60s, including “California Dreamin’” and “Monday, Monday.” Engineered by Dayton “Bones” Howe and produced by Lou Adler, the album offers a polished take on folk rock with tight harmonies and acoustic-driven arrangements that reflect the era’s focused listening approach. The group’s blend of vocal interplay and storytelling made them a defining voice of their time, and this compilation neatly showcases their signature sound without overstaying its welcome. This 1972 pressing on ABC/Dunhill is housed in a sturdy vinyl format pressed by True Sound Manufacturing Corp., with mastering at Longwear Plating—a detail that collectors might appreciate for its manufacturing provenance. The record itself rates as VG+, meaning you can expect some light surface marks or scuffs typical of a well-played copy, but nothing that should interfere significantly with enjoying classics like “Dream A Little Dream Of Me.” If you’re looking to add a reliable example of this collection to your shelf, this copy balances solid sonic presentation with the kind of wear that signals a record that’s seen a few good spins without becoming a museum piece. After all, even the best harmonies sound better when they’ve earned a little groove on the vinyl.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
