The Modern Jazz Quartet- At Music Inn Vol 2 with Sonny Rollins-LP

The Modern Jazz Quartet – At Music Inn Vol 2 with Sonny Rollins

The Modern Jazz Quartet’s At Music Inn Vol. 2 with Sonny Rollins brings Sonny Rollins into the group’s cool-jazz setting, adding tenor saxophone weight to the MJQ’s refined interplay. The album balances a medley of standards with two John Lewis originals, giving it both familiar material and pieces tied directly to the group’s own writing. A big part of the appeal is the intricate counterpoint between Lewis on piano and Milt Jackson on vibes, with Rollins adding a guest voice that makes this set stand apart from a more typical MJQ date. This is a 1959 vinyl pressing priced at $12, making it an affordable vintage Modern Jazz Quartet copy with notable personnel and period appeal. The record is graded VG, so expect more visible wear and possible background noise, but still as a playable copy where the music remains the focus.
