The Monkees – Instant Replay

Instant Replay catches The Monkees in a real transition point: their seventh studio album, and the first made after Peter Tork left the group. Released by Colgems in 1969, it mixes newer material with earlier recordings, which gives the record a slightly patchwork but very period-specific Monkees feel. Neil Young is among the notable players, an extra wrinkle that makes this one especially interesting beyond the group’s better-known pop hits. This is a same-year vintage vinyl pressing with the Rockaway identifier, priced at $20. The record is graded VG++, a very clean used-vinyl grade with glossy surfaces and only very small light marks, sleeve scuffs, or faint lines expected. For someone who likes the later Monkees story as much as the hit-single era, this copy has the right mix of album context, period pressing appeal, and strong vinyl condition.
