Tommy Dorsey – Tea For Two Cha Chas

Tea For Two Cha Chas catches the Tommy Dorsey orchestra adapting to the cha-cha boom under trombonist Warren Covington. Covington took over after Dorsey’s death in 1956, and this 1958 album was the orchestra’s first released after that change, pairing big-band swing tradition with a dance rhythm that was very much in the air at the time. That makes it more than a novelty title: it’s a neat document of a famous swing-era band finding its footing in a new pop moment. This copy is a 1958 vintage vinyl pressing priced at $10, making it an affordable big-band cha-cha LP with period appeal. The record is graded VG+, a strong everyday listening grade where a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs can be expected, but not wear that should dominate the music.
