National Lampoon's Animal House soundtrack brings together a lively mix of classic party anthems and spirited scores conducted by Elmer Bernstein and René Hall. The album features a blend of focused listening tracks and acoustic ensemble performances with contributions from notable horn players like Ronnie Cuber and Willis Jackson. Songs such as "Louie, Louie," "Hey Paula," and "Shout" highlight the soundtrack’s rollicking energy, perfectly matching the film’s raucous spirit. The involvement of producers Mark Davis, Lou Adler, and Sam Cooke adds a layer of polished craftsmanship beneath the rowdy surface — it’s the kind of record where the party’s soundtrack also knows how to mind its manners. This Gloversville repress offers a clean and glossy vinyl surface with only minor, faint paper scuffs that won’t interfere with play, graded VG++. Its 1978 original release roots the music firmly in that era’s vibrant mix of rock, soul, and pop, while the pressing itself provides a straightforward way to enjoy these tracks on a sturdy 12-inch format. If you’ve ever wondered what a well-mannered party sounds like, this record might just be it—rowdy enough to dance to, yet polished enough to keep the neighbors guessing. Various.
