Wando – Flama De Samba

Flama De Samba puts Wando in a Brazilian MPB and samba setting, a natural place for an artist whose career grew out of regional ensembles, dances, and classical-guitar study before he broke through as a singer. His nickname came from his grandmother, and by the early seventies he was also writing for other MPB performers, with Jair Rodrigues recording one of his compositions in that same period. That background gives this album a nice singer-songwriter angle beyond the samba tag. This copy is a 1974 Japan import vinyl pressing, priced at $50.
