Copy notes: Just about perfect vinyl, jacket in OG shrink

Billy Joel’s An Innocent Man revisits the sounds that shaped his youth, offering a melodic homage to doo-wop, soul, and early rock ’n’ roll. Tracks like “Uptown Girl” and “The Longest Time” showcase his knack for crafting catchy, heartfelt tunes with an acoustic ensemble warmth that invites focused listening rather than background noise. The album stands out in Joel’s catalog for its deliberate throwback style, blending polished songwriting with nostalgic charm without veering into mere imitation. This 1983 pressing brings that classic feel to vinyl with a near-mint condition that’s exceptionally clean and visually close to new, making it a pleasure to play or display. The record’s clarity on vinyl complements the intimate ensemble performance, letting each vocal harmony and piano line come through crisply. For collectors or listeners who appreciate Joel’s storytelling through a lens of vintage pop influences, this copy offers an appealing way to experience An Innocent Man as it was heard in its original era—no innocence lost in the grooves here.
