Bohannon’s self-titled 1975 album introduces listeners to his unique blend of funk and disco, anchored by tight grooves and a compact ensemble that keeps the focus sharp and engaging. Tracks like "Bohannon's Beat Part I" and "The Funky Reggae" showcase his skill in crafting rhythmic landscapes that invite both attentive listening and subtle movement—a balance that defines his place in the US disco scene. The album offers a tasteful mix of instrumental flair and rhythmic drive, making it a notable entry in the mid-70s funk-disco crossover. This 1975 pressing presents Bohannon’s work on vinyl with a clean surface and only minor, almost imperceptible marks consistent with careful use. The sound quality here benefits from the vinyl's glossy condition, which helps the intricate acoustic group interplay stand out. For anyone looking to add a vintage funk groove with a clear, undistracted sound, this copy holds its own, proving that sometimes, the best way to walk is the Bohannon Walk.
