Déjà Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young delivers a defining moment in folk-rock history, blending intricate vocal harmonies with acoustic and electric textures. The album includes memorable tracks like "Carry On," "Teach Your Children," and "Almost Cut My Hair," each showcasing the group's ability to weave personal storytelling with broader social reflections. With production credits shared among the band members themselves, this record highlights their collaborative spirit as much as their individual talents. The artwork, crafted by Gary Burden and others, complements the music’s layered complexity with a visual subtlety that invites closer inspection—proof that attention to detail wasn’t reserved just for the sound. This 1970 pressing on Atlantic carries the catalog number SD 19118 and benefits from Bill Halverson’s engineering, with lacquer cut by GP, ensuring a solid representation of the original sessions. Managed by industry figures like David Geffen and Elliot Roberts, it’s a pressing that sits well within a collection focused on the evolution of ’70s rock. The vinyl itself grades VG+, indicating a record that plays cleanly with only minor surface marks unlikely to interfere with the listening experience. For those who appreciate finely crafted songwriting and a touch of history in their stack, this Déjà Vu pressing offers a reliable and rewarding listen.
