Donovan’s Sunshine Superman marks a defining moment in ’60s British folk-rock, blending psychedelic flourishes with his distinctive acoustic style. Tracks like "Season Of The Witch" and the title song showcase his knack for weaving mystical storytelling with catchy melodies, placing him in a musical conversation alongside contemporaries like Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel. The album’s mix of whimsical lyrics and inventive arrangements captures the era’s adventurous spirit without losing sight of Donovan’s melodic sensibility—a balance that invites both reflection and foot-tapping. This 1966 vinyl pressing offers a solid slice of that period’s sound, pressed in stereo for a clear sense of space around the instruments and vocals. Its VG+ condition means you can expect light surface marks and minor paper scuffs that are typical for a record of this age but shouldn’t distract from enjoying "Guinevere" or "The Fat Angel." It’s a sturdy companion for anyone keen on exploring Donovan’s transition from folk troubadour to psychedelic innovator. Just the kind of record that reminds you how even sunshine can cast a few shadows on the grooves. Sunshine Superman - Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo.
