Liquid Acrobat As Regards The Air captures The Incredible String Band at a moment when their eclectic folk roots began to blend with more experimental and psychedelic textures. Emerging from Edinburgh’s vibrant scene, the group, led in part by Mike Heron, crafts a sound that sits comfortably alongside contemporaries like Fairport Convention, yet maintains a unique otherworldliness. The album’s 1972 release places it in a period rich with musical exploration, where the band’s inventive arrangements and imaginative spirit come to the fore. This 1972 vinyl pressing offers a solid listen for those curious about this phase of The Incredible String Band’s journey. Graded VG+, the record shows typical signs of use such as light surface markings, but nothing that should distract from its musical content. An LP like this invites a spot on your shelf where you won’t have to shuffle past it too quickly—after all, not every acrobat needs to stick the landing perfectly to impress.
