ELO's Greatest Hits gathers some of the band's most memorable tracks from 1973 to 1978, showcasing Jeff Lynne’s knack for blending orchestral arrangements with rock and pop sensibilities. The compilation includes the single version of "Evil Woman" and features "Ma-Ma-Ma Belle," notable for Marc Bolan’s guest guitar work, adding a distinctive flair to the lineup. While it came out after 'Discovery', it notably skips that album’s biggest hits, making it a snapshot focused on an earlier, formative period of the band's sound. This 1979 vinyl pressing offers a clear window into ELO’s late ‘70s era with its stereo mix and classic track selection. The sleeve includes Jeff Lynne’s own letter explaining the songs’ backgrounds, a nice touch for anyone curious about the band’s creative process at that time. The record is graded VG+, meaning you can expect some light surface marks or paper scuffs typical of regular play, but nothing that should overshadow the music. If you’re after a solid, vintage compilation that captures ELO’s lush, melodic style before their later ‘Discovery’ phase, this pressing fits the bill without fuss. After all, not every greatest hits needs to bring down the house. Electric Light Orchestra. ELO's Greatest Hits - Vinyl, LP, Compilation, Stereo.
