George Benson’s Livin’ Inside Your Love offers a refined blend of acoustic jazz with lush orchestration, guided by the dual arranging talents of Claus Ogerman and Mike Mainieri. The album unfolds with smooth tracks like "Hey Girl" and the soulful title cut, where Benson’s guitar work and vocals sit comfortably alongside Jorge Dalto’s clavinet and Mainieri’s vibraphone. Produced by Tommy LiPuma and engineered by Al Schmitt and Mike Reese, this record highlights a polished sound that balances intimate small ensemble interplay with expansive arrangements, making it a thoughtful choice for focused listening. This 1979 pressing holds up as a solid vintage find, pressed on vinyl that shows only very light surface marks and faint paper scuffs typical of careful use. The grooves remain glossy and clean, suggesting it will play with minimal noise interference. For those drawn to Benson’s late-’70s work that bridges jazz sensibility and pop accessibility, this record fits well in collections where smooth musicianship and orchestral elegance meet. After all, few albums invite you to live inside their grooves quite like this one.
