James Brown- Say It Loud-LP

Say It Live and Loud: Live in Dallas 08.26.68 captures James Brown during a pivotal moment in his career, recorded at the Dallas Memorial Auditorium just after the release of his socially charged anthem. This live album stands out for featuring one of the rare live performances of "Say It Loud – I'm Black and I'm Proud," complete with the dynamic call and response from the arena crowd that highlights the energy and cultural significance of the era. Critic Robert Christgau ranked it as the second-best live recording from Brown's influential late 1960s to early 1970s period, just behind the famed Sex Machine album. This 1998 reissue brings that historic performance back to vinyl, offering a chance to experience the raw power of Brown’s live presence. The record is graded VG++, indicating glossy, very clean vinyl with only minor light marks that are unlikely to affect listening. For collectors and fans interested in a vibrant snapshot of James Brown’s live show during a crucial phase, this pressing provides a solid, well-preserved example of the artist’s work on stage.
