Japan – Obscure Alternatives

Japan’s Obscure Alternatives was the English new wave band’s second studio album, released by Hansa in 1978. Produced with Ray Singer, it catches Japan early in their catalog, where new wave, art-rock, rock, and electronic ideas were still rubbing shoulders in a very late-’70s way. The track list includes “Automatic Gun,” “Love Is Infectious,” “Sometimes I Feel So Low,” and the title cut, giving the record a sharper period snapshot than a hits-focused introduction would. This copy is a 1978 Japanese import vinyl pressing priced at $42, a nice match for someone who wants a period copy with import appeal rather than a later issue. The record is graded NM, with the vinyl looking almost untouched: glossy, clean, and with no visible lines, scuffs, or sleeve marks noted.

Sound samples are included to help you get a feel for the music, but they may not always match the exact pressing or track version of the record listed. When in doubt, trust the photos and pressing information - that's the actual record you're buying.
