Grin’s Gone Crazy closed out the band’s studio run in 1973, with Nils Lofgren up front as lead vocalist and guitarist. David Briggs, closely associated with Neil Young’s records, produced the album, giving it an added connection to the broader early-’70s rock circle around Lofgren. The cover has plenty of period personality too, with Lanny Tupper’s colorful “going crazy” illustration and a front-cover performance photo of Lofgren mid-flip. This is a 1974 PITMAN vinyl pressing, a nice vintage copy for anyone digging into Lofgren’s pre-E Street Band work. At $14, it’s an affordable Grin record with especially strong condition appeal.
