Richie Havens- Something Else Again-LP

Richie Havens – Something Else Again

If you’re digging through the bins and stumble upon Richie Havens’ *Something Else Again*, don’t pass it by too quickly. This 1967 album captures Havens at a pivotal moment—right before he became a folk legend at Woodstock. It’s a raw, heartfelt blend of folk and soul, with his signature rhythmic guitar and powerful voice driving every track. One standout here is “No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed,” a tune that mixes social commentary with a slightly psychedelic vibe, showing Havens’ willingness to push boundaries beyond traditional folk. This album is a gem for anyone who loves the roots of '60s folk, and it’s a great listen if you want to hear the artist in a more exploratory, intimate mode. Flip it over and give it a spin—you might just find something surprisingly fresh hidden in these grooves.
