The Animals – Eric Is Here

Eric Is Here is a 1967 Eric Burdon & the Animals album with a twist: Burdon’s vocals are paired not with the regular band, but with orchestras led by Benny Golson and Horace Ott, who also handled arrangements. That gives the record a different shape from the Animals’ tougher blues-rock reputation, with songs such as “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” “I Think It’s Gonna Rain Today,” and “This Side of Goodbye” pointing toward a more arranged pop-rock setting. It was also Burdon’s final release for Decca Records, which adds a neat career-marker angle. This is a vintage 1967 vinyl pressing priced at $14, making it an affordable copy with real period appeal. The record is graded VG+, so expect a strong everyday listening copy with a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs possible, but not wear that should dominate the music.
