The Trees- The Christ Tree-LP

The Trees' The Christ Tree stands out as a singular 1975 private pressing that blends progressive folk with religious themes through a rich palette of global instruments like sitar, koto, and Venezuelan harp. The album’s centerpiece, a 12-minute "Psalm 42," exemplifies their experimental take on traditional hymns, while tracks such as "Parable Of The Mustard Seed" and "Chant For Pentecost" deepen the spiritual and musical exploration. This record captures a rare moment where devotional music meets adventurous soundscapes, making it a distinctive entry in the era’s underground folk scene. This 1975 vinyl pressing offers a solid listen with a VG+ grade, indicating it has some light surface marks or sleeve wear typical for its age but nothing that should interfere significantly with playback. The original Pomegranate Records label pressing is the only vinyl output from The Trees Community, lending this copy particular interest for those drawn to private pressings and unique folk artifacts. Its condition and format make it a practical choice for anyone curious about the intersections of folk, spirituality, and experimental instrumentation.
