New Edition’s All for Love, released in 1985 under MCA Records, offers a polished blend of contemporary R&B and funk-infused soul that reflects the group's smooth vocal interplay and youthful energy. Tracks like "Count Me Out" and "Sweet Thing" highlight their knack for catchy melodies wrapped in lush arrangements, while the acoustic moments give a focused listening experience that balances the upbeat grooves. Produced by Vincent Brantley and Rick Timas, with Bill Dern and Jheryl Busby overseeing the project, the album sits comfortably in the mid-80s soundscape without losing the distinct charm that made New Edition a staple of the era. This 1985 vinyl pressing carries the feel of a solid vintage listen, with artwork contributions from Mike Diehl, Jim Shea, Elliot Gilbert, and Vartan that add a visual appeal fitting the album’s polished style. The record grades at VG+, meaning you can expect light surface marks or paper scuffs typical of regular play but nothing that should distract from the music’s flow. With engineering by Steve Hall ensuring the sound holds up, this copy is a straightforward way to bring a piece of 80s R&B into your collection without fuss—sometimes the simplest groove is the one that keeps you coming back.
