Renaissance – Prologue

Renaissance’s Prologue is the English progressive rock band’s third studio album, a 1972 Sovereign release with the symphonic-prog character that makes their early catalog so appealing. Produced by Miles Copeland with the band, it gives plenty of period progressive-rock interest without drifting into generic rock-album territory. The track list includes “Kiev,” “Bound For Infinity,” and “Rajah Khan,” titles that point to the wider, more dramatic scope Renaissance were working with here. At $10, this is an affordable vintage Renaissance vinyl pressing from the album’s own release era. The record is graded VG+, so expect a solid everyday listening copy with a few light lines, sleeve marks, or small scuffs possible, but not wear that should dominate the music. For someone curious about early-’70s symphonic prog, this copy has the right mix of album importance, period pressing appeal, and accessible price.
