Not On The Outside, But On The Inside, Strong! by The Moments is a soulful statement from 1969 that blends intimate acoustic arrangements with the kind of focused listening that rewards patience. Produced by Larry Roberts and Sylvia Robinson, the album unfolds with heartfelt tracks like "Love On A Two-Way Street" and "Baby, I'm So Lost," combining rich vocal harmonies and subtle instrumentation. The artwork by Larry Newman adds a visual touch that complements the album’s warm, earnest vibe. This release on Stang Records showcases a compact ensemble navigating themes of love and vulnerability with sincerity, making it a noteworthy example of late ’60s soul. This 1969 pressing offers a chance to experience the album as it originally appeared, featuring clear label and catalog details (ST 1000). The vinyl is graded VG+, indicating it plays well with only light surface marks and minor paper scuffs that won’t overshadow the music itself. It’s a solid choice for anyone seeking a vintage soul record that holds its own in both sound and presence without demanding a microscope for playback. If your collection appreciates the thoughtful grooves of focused soul, this one fits neatly into that groove.
