The Moody Blues – The Present

The Moody Blues’ The Present comes from the band’s Patrick Moraz era, following Long Distance Voyager and carrying their soft-rock and symphonic-rock approach into the early ’80s. It was their eleventh studio album and their last original studio album on the Threshold Records label, which gives it a specific place in the band’s later catalog. The sequencing also reflects the shadow of Long Distance Voyager, with Justin Hayward’s material placed up front and Ray Thomas’s songs closing the record, while the cover nods to Maxfield Parrish’s Daybreak. This is a 1983 vinyl pressing priced at $10, making it an affordable Moody Blues copy with solid vintage appeal. The record is graded VG++, a very clean used-vinyl grade where glossy surfaces and only very small light marks, sleeve scuffs, or faint lines would be expected. For a buyer who wants a clean, inexpensive way into the band’s early-’80s period, this copy has the right mix of price, condition, and catalog interest.
